If you’ve wondered where singer Ginuwine disappeared to, there’s no need to wonder anymore, because he’s back. He has been working with Timbaland on an album for 2009.
Ginuwine has made six albums, but his second album, 100% Ginuwine, in 1999, is the most recognized album.
That album included “What’s So Different?,” “Same ‘Ol G,” “None of Ur Friends Business” and “So Anxious.” The singer is probably most known for his debut single, “Pony,” from his debut album Ginuwine…The Bachelor.
The single peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks for two weeks in November in 1996. It also landed at number six on Billboard’s Hot 100.
BET.com published a statement from Ginuwine that explains his absence from the music industry. “I have been touring and working on various projects the last couple of years and pondering what I wanted my next moves to be. I didn’t want to rush into just doing what a label told me to do, but rather take time to be creative and find music and projects that I have creative control over. Notifi is giving me the support and creative freedom to record the sounds I think best represent me.”
Ginuwine has worked with Timbaland before on his songs “Pony” and “So Anxious.”
Multi-platinum Ginuwine will also be working with Bryan Michael Cox, Warren Okay “Oak” Felder and Bun B.
Lightening does strike twice! Multi-platinum selling R&B sensation Ginuwine is back in the studio working with Timbaland on an album slated for Q2 2009 release. In addition to Timbaland, Ginuwine is working with the production talents of Bryan Michael Cox and Warren Okay “Oak” Felder. Some of the writers on the album include RL (of Next), The Clutch and Johnta Austin. So far Bun B is the only featured artists.
Ginuwine says, “I have been touring and working on various projects the last couple of years and pondering what I wanted my next moves to be. I didn’t want to rush into just doing what a label told me to do but rather take time to be creative and find music and projects that I have creative control over. Notifi is giving me the support and creative freedom to record the sounds I think best represent me.”
Ginuwine is signed with Notifi Records with distribution through Asylum Records (WMG). The singer has previously released 5 platinum and multi-platinum selling albums. His chart topping singles include; “Pony,” “Differences,” “In Those Jeans, ” and “So Anxious.”
*Ginuwine’s R&B comeback is receiving a significant assist from former collaborator Timbaland and Dirty South rap titan Bun B, reports Allhiphop.com.
All three are collaborating on the singer’s forthcoming CD “The New Beginning,” which will be released via Notifi Records, with distribution through Asylum. The effort will be Ginuwine’s sixth studio album and first release in four years.
“I have been touring and working on various projects the last couple of years and pondering what I wanted my next moves to be,” says Ginuwine, who rose to stardom in the late 90s with the release of “Pony.”
“I didn’t want to rush into just doing what a label told me to do but rather take time to be creative and find music and projects that I have creative control over,” he said. Notifi is giving me the support and creative freedom to record the sounds I think best represent me.”
Also lending production talent are Bryan Michael Cox and Warren “Oak” Felder, who is responsible for Chris Brown’s latest single, “Superhuman” featuring Keri Hilson.
Ginuwine has also tapped RL of the group Next, writing team The Clutch and Johnta Austin as songwriters for the project. Bun B is the lone guest appearance that has been confirmed.
“The New Beginning” is due out during the second quarter of next year.
R&B singer Ginuwine is on the comeback trail and according to his Myspace is wrapping up the follow up to 2005s “Back II Da Basics”.
Ginuwine’s as-yet-untitled album comes under a new deal with Notifi Records.
While a release date has not been revealed, sources close to the singer expect the album to hit stores in April with the first single hitting radio in January.
The former “In Those Jeans” singer worked with Timbaland recently.
Timbaland joins a bevy of top R&B songwriters and producers working on the highly anticipated effort including Bryan Michael Cox, Oak, The Clutch and Johnta Austin.
Ginuwine’s as-yet-untitled album is due April 2009.
